Osteoarthritis Exercise Classes led by Physiotherapists in Canberra

Back In Strength is happy to offer the GLA:D program for those who have osteoarthritis in their hip and/or knee.

What is the GLA:D® Program?

GLA:D® is a research-based exercise and education program designed to help reduce the symptoms of Hip and Knee Osteoarthritis. Through exercise and education, the program helps people with OA become stronger, feel more confident to be active and understand how to manage their condition. Research from GLA:D® has found the program can reduce symptom progression by 32%. It can also lead to less pain and reduced use of joint related pain killers.

Included in the Program:

  • An initial session
  • 2 free education sessions
  • 6 weeks of supervised exercise twice a week
  • A follow up sessions at 3 months to assess your improvement
  • Run by a physiotherapist

An initial session allows you to have a better understanding of the program and helps you find out more about your current functional ability. The two education sessions teach you about Osteoarthritis, how exercise improves joint stability, and how to keep improved joint stability outside of the program.

GLA:D combines research-based exercise and education to help reduce the symptoms of knee and hip osteoarthritis.

What to Expect from a GLA:D Program Class

Before joining this program you will need to book in for the initial sessions, where suitability for the GLA:D program will be determined. Alternative programs may be discussed.
